TIMES – Higher Education (THE) has just published the results of the rating “University Impact Rankings 2019 on sustainable Development Goals” to universities in the world. The rating indicates the Diponegoro University ranks second (score 101-200) after the University of Indonesia (score of 80). Other campuses are: UGM (Gadjah Mada University) score of 101-200, (2) IPB score of 201-309, (3) ITB score of 301, (4) Padjadjaran score 301+, (5) UNY score 301+.
This achievement is obtained thanks to the hard work of the institution, faculty and staff who have concern for the implementation of SDGs that since 15 September 2015 has been launched. Not to forget the President Jokowi also responded by setting the global agenda into a national agenda through Presidential Decree No. 59 Year 2017 on the Implementation of Sustainable development goals.
Post-enactment of Presidential Regulation, it was followed by activities to compile a roadmap, the National Action Plan (RAN), record, guide the preparation of RAD, and make monitoring guidelines. It seems that on the basis of the fundamental framework and operational technical framework that has been prepared, Indonesia has managed to prepare it. It all cannot be separated from the role of the campus as a stakeholder, and the extent of the contribution and role of the campus in implementing SDGs can be seen from the results of the ranking carried out by THE.
