Azizah Naflah Nuraini, Social Anthropology Student Wins Gold Award in 2023 Malaysia Technology Expo

May 3th, 2023, one of the students from Diponegoro University, Social Anthropology Undergraduate Program, named Azizah Naflah Nuraini, won a gold award in the 2023 Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) international competition with Asian Youth Innovation Awards theme. The student who is familiarly called Naflah, contributed in analyzing the condition of society as a segmentation of the product that her group produces.

Naflah together with Azka Nadiya Dzakiyalizz, Inayatu Shafiyah, Rinanda Wahyu Setiyaningsih, and Siti Rahmawati Hidayah from the Nutrition Science, Food Engineering and Indonesian Literature Undergraduate Program, produces Dastea: Fennel Herbal ‘Drink to Prevent Gastritis’. This product aims to prevent Gastritis.

In her contribution, Naflah used Medical Anthropology in directly to study the socio-cultural system of the community regarding their belief in non-medical herbal medicines, with the aim that the product can be accepted by the community from cultural perspective.

Through the “Healthcare, Personal Care Technology, Biotechnology, and Life Sciences” categories, Naflah managed to win a gold award with her group mates. So then, Naflah brings new achievements to the Social Anthropology Undergraduate Program, and also for Diponegoro University.

“It feels good to be able to introduce our innovative products to them. By getting to know many people from various tribes, I increasingly feel that the world is truly wide and that each human being has their own uniqueness, which makes them beautiful.” said Naflah (May 4th, 2023).
